Artist Bio

Amanda Boyd Yin is a Northern Michigan based, expressive figurative artist who works from life. Her work explores Mythology and sacred texts in the context of carl Jung's concept of the collective unconscious.  Observation of her model or subject is at the core of Amanda's work, which she considers a creative collaboration. 

Amanda received a BFA in Illustration at Parsons School of Design, and an MFA in Drawing, Printmaking and Anatomy from the New York Academy of Art where she was a the Drawing Scholar Award and a Patron Scholarship.  She has exhibited in group shows in London, New York, Connecticut and Michigan. Her work was long-listed for the 2023 World Illustration Awards .
